July 7 - Flying to Iceland

We were up way before the crack of dawn (although it was light out all night), grabbed a bite at the early bird breakfast buffet and caught the Flybus to the airport.  We had a short flight to Oslo where we sat for about 6 hours before our flight to Keflavik.

Mary was able to get some photos of Norway as we flew over.

It was only partly cloudy over Iceland and we flew in along the southern coast…so we got to see a lot of the glaciers,

mountains

and the Glacier Lagoon that we had visited in our trip here a few weeks ago.

The flight path took us almost directly over the Blue Lagoon.

Once we landed we transferred to our hotel in Reykjavik.  We had to walk a few block with our luggage as the hotel is on a pedestrian only street.  We stopped in at a nearby creperie for a light dinner and were in bed by a reasonable hour.
