We have three full days in Reykjavik, while waiting for our Greenland cruise. Most of it we have spent holed up in the room
working on work…catching up on reviewing future itineraries and making
decisions, working on photos, working on the various blogs and reading and
napping.
We did get out for lunch and dinner and usually spent a bit of time wandering around Reykjavik. It is a small and easily walk-able town with lots of souvenir shops, restaurants and people watching.
There are interesting street signs.
There is also a fair amount of statuary.
We found a nice little square with old houses down the street
We also wandered into a store with Norse Mythology merchandise for sale. There was a gigantic Thor in the front window.
And there was a very interesting piece hanging on the wall that looked like some sort of mythological creature with wings. The wings were made of baleen from some sort of whale. The baleen made for very convincing wings. I think it is supposed to be the Norse Valkyrie.
